1. Your League Play and Rankings
System
When you first join a league you start with zero points
and can move up the ranks by winning games.
For each game win, you receive three (3) points. For
each loss, minus one point (-1). The player with the most points has the highest
rank.
Leagues cycle on a monthly
basis and are reset on the first of every month at midnight.
You may only play a
member ten (10) times during a league cycle. You may only partner with a member
fifty (50) times during a league cycle. There is no limit to the number of games
you may play per cycle overall.
Tournament matches count toward league standings but
not against your monthly limit of 10 times against the same player, or 50 times
with the same partner. Example: You play someone 5 times in tournament play and
you play the same person 10 times in league play, for a total of 15 times in the
month. All those matches will count toward the standings.
If two players are tied with points, the first
tiebreaker is the number of wins, and the next tiebreaker is the winning
percentage.
2. Account Rules
You must have a valid E-mail address on record. Most
contact will be by e-mail. If we are unable to contact you via e-mail, you may
be suspended.
You cannot share e-mail addresses with any member. You
must have your own e-mail address.
A
player will have no more than one account with the Royal Pogo Monkeys. You
may also join and create and account with the Jungle and Royal Yahoo
Monkeys. Creating multiple accounts on Royal Pogo will not be tolerated and
will result in being banned from all of MonkeyRoyale. We determine IP Addresses
at registration and they are logged.
Players cannot share accounts! Only one player per
account is allowed. DO NOT share your password with anyone. If found that more
than one person has access to your account, the account will be permanently
suspended.
Your account will be deleted if you do not have any activity on your Royal Monkeys on Pogo account for 90 days in a row (Gold and Charter Members are exempt - just signing in, is considered "activity"). The system will automatically delete the account and all its information. We cannot retrieve accounts that have been deleted. We will attempt to send a reminder email to your registered email address 7 days prior to deletion. It is YOUR responsibility to maintain your account.
3. Getting a Match
The best way to get a match is to announce in the lobby
and ask for a MONKEY game or Royal game. This lets everyone know that you are
interested in playing with the Royal Monkeys. All players are to agree which
league the match will be reported in, prior to game start. It will be considered
manipulating reports and cheating, if you wait until the match results are
determined, to decide what league you will report the match in.
You may play the same person ONLY 10 times in league
play each reporting cycle for credit. Tournaments do not count toward this
total. More than 10 times in league play in a cycle, played between the same two
opponents, will not count towards your statistics or BananaBux
account.
4. Opponents
You may not report matches against people that reside in
the same household or same location (such as work). If you are in a tournament
and are matched against someone from the same household or location, please call
the TD to the table to watch and the TD must report the match.
You are not allowed to partner with people who reside
in the same household as you or are in the same location as you, whether it is
in league play or tournament play.
You may not report wins if the game was played from
the same machine or same internet connection.
You may play only ONE game at a time. This means ONE
game at a time regardless of whether it is a MonkeyRoyale game or not. We have
this rule to allow for better play from both opponents. This rule also means
just what it says ONE GAME. You may not play in another league or tournament
match in a different type game.
You may only play in one tournament at a time
regardless of the type of game or whether it is on MonkeyRoyale or not. Ex; you
may not play in a Dominoes tournament and a Backgammon tournament at the same
time. ONE tournament at a time!
You may not harass, abuse or attempt to change the
outcome of any match by forced forfeit or try to cancel a game because of the
fact that you are losing. We ask all players to report this activity to Royal
Monkeys Admin. If we receive multiple complaints against a user we will
investigate and deal with the situation.
5. Playing Your
Matches
All games must be RATED unless it is in a tournament and
set in the rules for all matches to be unrated (such as reverse tournaments).
The winner must report the match and the loser must confirm it. Not confirming a
match will result in the offending player not being allowed to participate in
any tournaments until the match in question has been resolved. You have up to 48
hours to confirm a match before a Manager gets involved and will report it for
you.
If you join a tournament, you are expected to know how to
play the game. Tournaments are not meant as a training ground to learn a game
and are NOT the time to learn how to play. While Questing can be fun, some games
are adversely affected if you do not know how to play at all. League play and
training days are provided in order to help learn the game. In addition, we do
not allow "donating" to tournaments. If you check in to a tournament, you are
expected to play in that tournament, that means playing to win, to the best of
your ability.
Any disputed games will be investigated within 48 hours
after the dispute is logged in. A dispute occurs when both players claim wins or
losses for the same game. Do not be afraid to dispute a game, we investigate all
disputes by checking playing records, when available.
We rely on the good sportsmanship of all the players
to do the right thing and report their matches.
If there is a dispute to a game due to POGO
crashing or any other failure of the system all games during that time will be
considered null and void.
6. Not Finishing a
Match
Once you start a match you are responsible for completing
it. If you have to leave before the game is finished for any reason, the game is
considered a loss and you need to promptly report it. There will be no saved
games.
Hardware and reliability is the
players' responsibility.
Although it does not happen often, it is possible
that you or your opponent get disconnected before the match is complete. If this
happens, the player who got disconnected should reconnect in less than 10
minutes to continue the game. If this happens, the player waiting should
immediately send a message to the player that was disconnected using the Royal
Monkeys Forum messaging system. This will note the time and start the 10-minute
clock. If the player that got disconnected does not get back within 10 minutes,
the player left at the table has every right to force the forfeit and report the
win.
We expect all players to
respect the fact that disconnections do happen and not to jump on taking a win
too quickly.
7. Reporting a Match
Report match outcomes immediately. The winner of the
match must make the report. The loser confirms the loss under Report a League
Match.
You may not report matches
against someone from the same household or from the same internet connection. If
you do report, our system will track you and both accounts could be suspended.
Any match played that is over 48
hours old and not reported by the winning player within that time, that is
disputed by the losing player, will be ruled null and void.
Most unreported matches are a case of forgetfulness
on the part of your opponent and are not intentional. The MonkeyRoyale system
will put an unresolved match message on the Report a League Match page of the
player that did not confirm the match. The message will ask for the match to be
confirmed and the player can report the match at that time. If your match has
not been confirmed within 24 hours of the match then an e-mail will be sent to
the person who hasn't confirmed, informing them they have 24 hours to confirm or
the match will be given to the reporting player.
In the event that you dispute the match, do not confirm
the match. The TD Manager will investigate the matter and determine who gets the
win. If there are special circumstances that the TD Manager needs to be aware of
please e-mail the situation to the Head TD of the league for which the match is
being disputed. That e-mail address can be found in the upper right hand corner
of the league page.
If you do not claim
a win, then the match will never be reported and you will get no credit
(Non-winners cannot make reports, only confirmations). On the other hand, if you
lose the match and do not report, you will be credited with a loss and your
opponent a win.
You should never
harass another player, either in chat, in the lobbies or in a game in an attempt
to get them to report. Let our system work for you.
8. Winnings Wall
Flags
A large
assortment of Flags can be earned in a variety of different ways. Any Flags that
you earn will be displayed on your own Winnings Wall. Detailed information can
be found on the Winnings Wall page.
- Statistical Flags are
earned through tournament play and referring new members and are broken down
into Cycle Flags (completing certain requirements during any month) and
Lifetime Flags (completing certain requirements over the lifetime of your
membership).
- Quest Flags are earned for completing specific requirements for each
Quest.
- Featured Tournament Flags are earned by either playing, or winning in
specific tournaments. The Featured Tournaments schedule can be found on the
Featured Tournament page. The requirements for earning the Flag for each type
of Featured Tournament can be found in the description on the tournament
page.
NOTE: If you are suspended as a player at any
time, all awards are erased from your Winning Wall and you will start over. Keep
it clean and keep it fair. Good luck!!!!
Tournaments that you have been DQ'd from, will NOT
count towards ANY Flags. For Flags that require a player to "play" in a certain
number of tourneys, types of tourneys, or specific fees, you must actually PLAY
in those tourneys. That means playing to win, to the best of your ability.
Intentionally losing a game, or a DQ for any reason, does not follow along with
the spirit intended for Winnings Wall Flags and will not count towards any
Flags. Manipulation of player stats in order to receive a Flag is cheating and
will be dealt with accordingly. If at any time, the programming is unable to
discount a DQ towards your Flag progress, the Flag will be removed manually.

Tournament spamming is considered any sort of advertising of a
tournament, no matter the length. Non-TDs are not permitted to spam for
MonkeyRoyale tournaments, in any room or via Messenger, at any time. In
addition, discussions of tournaments are only allowed in the room the tournament
is being held in. You may spam to recruit members but you may not spam for
tournaments. That is the role of TDs.
When spamming for recruits, you may only use your own referral
code for recruiting new members.
top
MonkeyRoyale names are limited to 24 characters and your
MonkeyRoyale name must exactly match your name in the system you are playing in
(capital letters do not matter). Examples: Your Yahoo ID is
JohnDoemonkey@sbcglobal.net. That is too many letters and would
not be able to match a MonkeyRoyale ID. If your Yahoo ID is JohnDoeMonkey, a
MonkeyRoyale ID of johndoemonkey would be acceptable. You may change your
Username by clicking on the button titled "My Account" located in the left hand
column. When the page opens click on "Change Username" and answer the security
questions.
No offensive names or
names that include profanity will be allowed to remain in MonkeyRoyale. The
determination of offensive names is at MonkeyRoyale's Manager discretion. Using
symbols or missing letters to change the appearance of an offensive name or word
is not acceptable. The determination of an offensive name may also be made by
the intended meaning.
You may
only change your user name once every 30 days. If a mistake is made in changing
your name then you may write to usersupport@monkeyroyale.com to see if you are
eligible to have it changed by our staff. We will do this only
once.

11. Multiple Users
You must report all family members, other members
of your household, and anyone playing on MonkeyRoyale at your home. You must
report if you share an internet connection or computer with others, such as at
work. You MUST notify us via the Multiple Users in Same Household registration
form located in MY ACCOUNT.
If you do not do so, all accounts will be subject
to suspension from MonkeyRoyale. This applies even if it is temporary. If
someone visits you, simply add them.
Your accounts will be put on a special watch list for
irregularities in your game play. You are not allowed to play league play
against any member of your household (no matter where each of you are at the
moment) or someone that shares an internet connection with you. You are not
allowed to partner with any member of your household (no matter where each of
you are at the moment) or someone that shares an internet connection with you.
Our security system crosschecks and alerts management when violations occur.
It is not allowable for more
than one person to use or share the same account. You are welcome to each
participate in the league but you will have to create separate
accounts.

12. Cheating
It goes without saying that we will not tolerate
cheating of any kind. This site was created to make it possible for all people
to enjoy the thrill of gaming in a league environment that is honest and fun.
Cheating of any kind is forbidden, this includes
but is not limited to rule violations, using modifiable executables, reporting
false results, harassing an opponent to cancel a game repeatedly or intentional
delay of game. Anything that distorts true results or affects rankings or flags
is cheating and will not be allowed.
To repeat: Anything that distorts true results or
affects rankings or flags is cheating and will not be allowed. Swapping wins,
purposely losing, and not actually playing the games are some examples of this.
Checking into a tournament with no intention of actually playing is also a
distortion of true results and unfairly affects rankings. In addition, we ask
our members to take the time to know the basics of the game they are playing.
Joining a tournament without any knowledge of the game, in order to receive a
Quest flag, is not acceptable.
The use of any communication such as the Yahoo
Messenger, ICQ, AOL Messenger and/or telephone is strictly prohibited during all
play and especially during team games like Spades, Pinochle, Euchre, Bridge
etc.
Cheating may result in a permanent suspension from
all of MonkeyRoyale. The severity of the cheating will determine the suspension
length.
top
13. Abuse
If you encounter another user behaving in an
unacceptable manner in lobby on repeated occasions please report the abuse at
abuse@monkeyroyale.com and include a brief description of the situation. You may
also send a screen shot in JPG form to further give evidence.
Any harassment towards a Tournament Director or
MonkeyRoyale Admin is grounds for an immediate automatic suspension. We protect
our Tournament Directors and Admin at all costs and will not tolerate
unacceptable behavior from the players. On the same token, we will not tolerate
unacceptable behavior from our Directors. Any such behavior should be reported
to the TD Manager of that league and their e-mail can be found on the league
page in the upper right hand corner.
It is not allowed to harass a player for a match.
There are no formal challenges
due to the fact that rankings are based on win/loss calculations.
We encourage you to try to solve
problems on your own before bringing it to our staff. If you are not able to
resolve a situation please bring it to a staff members attention or e-mail our
support staff.

17. Sub Rules
For Partner Games
Sub Rule for League Games Requiring Partners
There are leagues that require partners
to play the game. These games require four people unlike some of the other
leagues. Here is what you need to do if one person is missing:
a) Cancel the game if it just
started.
b) Wait 10 minutes, as per
MonkeyRoyale rules, and then look in the lobby for a sub. If the sub and his/her
partner win, then the sub gets credit for the win. If the sub and his/her
partner lose, then the loss is reported against the original player that was in
that seat. Be very sure to wait the 10 minutes before calling for a sub. Those
are MonkeyRoyale rules and need to be adhered to and they are also common
courtesy.
c) If for some reason
you can not find a sub, you will wait the 10 minutes as per the rules. Then you
may report a win only against the missing player, never their partner as long as
they remained at the table for the 10 minutes. The ten minutes applies to each
player not each team.
Sub Rule
for Tournament Games Requiring Partners
1.
Call the TD to the table to start a timer if a player is
disconnected during the match.
2.
Should a misbid occur (some card leagues), a sub will be requested
and the hand shall be skipped once, unless otherwise stated.
3.
If a player is disqualified, a sub will be found from the list of
those who did not advance and have checked that they will sub.
4.
Players that played in the tourney, but did not advance, will be
given preference for subbing in the tourney. Players who were disqualified from
the tourney (for any reason) cannot sub in that tourney.
5.
Subs should be waiting in the lobby to sub and be able to respond
immediately when called upon. If a player is called to sub and does not respond
promptly, their name will be removed from the sub list. If the player starts a
game or joins another tourney, they are no longer eligible to sub. If a player
chooses to go play another game, they should notify the TD that they no longer
wish to be considered to sub
6.
Sub rules exist so that one player on a team is not penalized if
their teammate goes missing or is disqualified. If one player on a team is a sub
and the other player is also disqualified, the team will receive an automatic
loss since no original players remain on the team.
7.
If a sub advances to the bux round, they are entitled to 50% of
the KingsCoins the original player would have won.
8.
Subs advance in the tournament the same as a regular player.
Subs and Sub
List
To be
placed on the sub list you MUST click on the sub box before checking into the
tournament. (If you forget to click on the sub box, you can check out and back
in checking the sub box prior to hitting the check in box the second time.)
Those on the sub list will have top priority to sub. The sub list will be
maintained by the computer in order of reported loss. Once chosen as a sub your
name will be removed from the list. You can not join another tournament or
league game to be eligible. If you choose to join another tournament or play in
a league game, please notify the TD to have your name skipped.
Upon being chosen as a Sub in a tournament, your
name will be entered into the tournament and appear in the pairings, replacing
the person you sub for. If you enter as a sub before a bux round and:
· Lose, you will receive
nothing.
· Win, you will receive
50% of the winnings for the place you finish in. If you enter as a sub during a
round that bux will be awarded in then all earnings will be split between the
sub and the player that was replaced. You must win at least one game to be
awarded the 50%
