Dear Members,

We had some technical difficulties with the last leg of the Road Trip Quest, the Ape, Latvia Quest.  It is fixed now and all the flags should award properly today.  We will be picking the Road Kit Winners tomorrow, once all the Ape Latvia flags have had time to properly award.

Thank you for your understanding!

Questing and Flags   Posted on Dec 8th, 2009

Dear members,
Many of you like to get flags and do Quests on MonkeyRoyale and we thank you for that. We try to vary the Quests and keep them interesting and fair.
Unfortunately, some members are violating Account Rules and cheating and disrupting tournaments, just to get flags and complete Quests. These actions are putting the whole Quest program in jeopardy. In fact, I was called tonight and told to stop doing Quests entirely. I'm hoping that we can handle this without having to stop doing Quests or having flags.
The Account Rules state:
If you join a tournament, you are expected to know how to play the game. Tournaments are not meant as a training ground to learn a game and are NOT the time to learn how to play. While Questing can be fun, some games are adversely affected if you do not know how to play at all. League play and training days are provided in order to help learn the game. In addition, we do not allow "donating" to tournaments. If you check in to a tournament, you are expected to play in that tournament, that means playing to win, to the best of your ability.
For Flags that require a player to "play" in a certain number of tourneys, types of tourneys, or specific fees, you must actually PLAY in those tourneys. That means playing to win, to the best of your ability. Intentionally losing a game, or a DQ for any reason, does not follow along with the spirit intended for Winnings Wall Flags and will not count towards any Flags. Manipulation of player stats in order to receive a Flag is cheating and will be dealt with accordingly. If at any time, the programming is unable to discount a DQ towards your Flag progress, the Flag will be removed manually.
This means that you are NEVER to enter a tournament if you do not know how to play the game. NEVER!! If you do so, you will be suspended. We will be taking a very strong and hard stance on this to fix the current problem. Please remember that if you are suspended, you will lose ALL your flags on your wall.
The Quests that involve playing in all leagues are purposely simple and cheap and all month. That gives the members time to ACTUALLY learn the game through league games or training days, before entering a tournament. To enter a tournament with no intent to actually play the game is cheating and against everything MonkeyRoyale stands for. Again, you WILL be suspended if you do this.
Please play league games or participate in Training Days before entering tournaments, especially partner games. Entering a tournament where you don't know how to play the game is especially harmful in partner tournaments. Think of your fellow players and realize how disruptive and harmful it is to get in a tournament with no clue what to do. It affects the other members, the TD running the tournament, and delays the tournament substantially and unnecessarily. While you may be willing to risk or waste your own Bux in a tournament, it is selfish and unfair to risk and waste your partner's Bux just for a flag.
Because of the manipulation and harm being done by a few, the Nutcracker Challenge is being removed as a Quest. If we find that members are continuing to enter tournaments where they have no idea how to play, just to get a flag, we will have to stop having flags. MonkeyRoyale exists to provide league play and tournament play in a fun and fair atmosphere. Manipulation, cheating and disruption, just to get a flag, do not help us provide a fun and fair atmosphere. Please help us fix this problem.
We appreciate your help and understanding.
