A. What is MonkeyRoyale?

What is MonkeyRoyale?
MonkeyRoyale is the premier online gaming site with divisions in Yahoo and Pogo. There are currently 3 separate divisions; Royal Monkeys on Yahoo, Jungle Monkeys on Yahoo and Royal Monkeys on Pogo. The Royal divisions are company sponsored leagues played on both Yahoo and Pogo. The Jungle division is member owned leagues played on Yahoo.
MonkeyRoyale is leagues for all of your favorite games in Yahoo and Pogo. You can compete with players from around the world and the best part is that it is a monthly league. So if you can't play enough in one month, you can start fresh the next month. MonkeyRoyale is a community of players that love to have fun and compete in leagues and tournaments.

B. Creating an Account.

How do I register?
Click on Register on the upper left side bar and complete the registration form. Be sure to fill in all fields with true and accurate information as that will affect your eligibility to receive prizes and other member benefits.

Why do you need my personal information? Will this information be kept Private?
To be eligible to be a TD, to redeem for prizes or to redeem for cash, you must have registered with your real personal information. It is also part of our Terms of Service that you agreed to when registering your account. Any account with false registration information may be subject to permanent suspension. Your personal information will never be made public. We have a very strict policy regarding the privacy and security of our members.

I messed up when I made my account and the Username is wrong. Should I just make a new account with the right ID?
Creating a new account to correct an error would be a violation of our Account Rules, and may result in a permanent suspension. If your UserName is incorrect, click on your My Account button and then click on Change My UserName. Answer the security questions and type in the new UserName you would like. You may also contact a MonkeyRoyale Admin for assistance. The League Managers are listed in the upper right corner of each league page along with a direct email link.

Can other members of my family join?
Yes! The other members of your family are welcome to join MonkeyRoyale. They must register their own account and have their own personal email address. Any member that you share an internet connection with, whether it's at home, the office or school, needs to be registered as a multiple user. To register a multiple user, click on My Account, then on Notify of Multiple Users. Type in the other member's UserName exactly as it appears on their account then click submit. They should do the same on their account to add you as a multiple user. There are specific rules which apply to multiple users, which can be found on the Account Rules page Rule #10.

Can I also join Royal Pogo Monkeys and Royal Monkeys on Yahoo?
Yes! You may register 1 account for each division.

Do I need to use the same ID for all divisions?
No! You may have a different UserName for each division, but you must have a corresponding ID in Yahoo for each UserName on Royal Monkeys on Yahoo and Jungle Monkeys on Yahoo, and a matching ID on Pogo for your Royal Monkeys on Pogo account.

C. Getting Started.

I've registered and signed in, what do I do now?
Your first step would be to join one or more of the leagues you wish to play in. Once you've joined a league, you will be able to see the upcoming tournaments for each league you are a member of.

How do I join a league?
On the left sidebar, click on the Join a League button then click on the league you wish to join. Repeat these steps for each league you wish to join.

Can I join more than 1 league?
Yes! You may join as many of the leagues in each division as you like.

How can I see the upcoming tourneys in my league?
Once you've joined some leagues, click on the Join a Tournament button, and the upcoming tournaments for the next 6 hours will be listed for the leagues which you are a member of. To see the scheduled tournaments in each league for the next 2 weeks, click on your My Leagues drop down menu and select the league you wish to view upcoming tournaments in.

How do I remove a league from the My Leagues list?
There is no option to remove a league that you have joined. Any leagues that you have not been active in during the current cycle, will be dropped during end of the month reset. Reset takes place on the last day of each month, beginning at 11:30PM CST and lasting approximately 1 hour. This is when all cycle stats are reset for the next month.

D. My Account.

How do I change my UserName?
The first step is to verify that the UserName is available in Yahoo. You will either need to create the new ID in Yahoo or you may already have that ID in Yahoo. Next, click on your My Account page and then click on Change My UserName. Answer the security questions and type in the new UserName you've chosen and click Submit. Your UserName will be changed immediately, but no other information on your account will be changed.

How do I change my Email Address?
To change the email address listed on your account, click on your My Account page and then click on Change My Email. Enter your password, then type in your new email address and confirm your new email address by retyping it again, then click Submit.

How do I change my Password?
To change your password, click on your My Account page, then click on the Change My Password, type in your current password, then type your new password and confirm your new password by retyping it, then click on Submit.

I've forgotten my Password, how do I retrieve it?
If you have forgotten your password, you can have your password reset and a new password emailed to the email address registered on your account. On the Sign-In page, click on the I Forgot My Password link, type in your UserName, select your birthdate from the drop down list and click on Request Password.

I requested a new password, but I haven't received an email. What am I doing wrong?
If you have requested a new password, but haven't received an email with your new password, check your spam folder (some email programs see MonkeyRoyale email as spam and sort them to the spam folder). Also, be sure you are checking the email account that matches the email address registered on your MonkeyRoyale account. If neither of those options corrects the problem, contact a MonkeyRoyale admin (League Managers UserNames are listed in the upper right corner of each league page), by email or by Yahoo Messenger for assistance.

When I try to make a change to my account, it says my birthday is incorrect. How can I correct what's on my account?
Your name and birthdate are security question and we cannot tell you the information registered on your account. To correct the information on your account, use the Contact Us link to notify User Support of the problem. You will receive instructions for correcting account information errors.

How do I find my referral code?
Your referral code is listed in the upper right corner of every MonkeyRoyale page, just to the right of your UserName. You can also find your referal code on your My Account page.

What is my referral code used for?
Your referral code is your account number, it is also used to receive credit for any new members you refer. When you recruit a new member to MonkeyRoyale, give them your referral number and ask them to use your referral code when they register. If the new member remains active for at least 60 days (they must play and report at least 1 league or tournament match to be active), you will receive 500 BananaBux. You will receive an additional 1000 BananaBux the first time your new referral purchases BananaBux and the first time they purchase a Premium Membership.

Other members of my household have registered. Is there anything special that I need to do?
Yes! All members that you share an internet connection with must be registered as multiple users. You must register them on your account, and they must register you on their account. Please also read the Account Rules #10 regarding multiple users.

How do I add a Multiple User?
To register a multiple user, click on My Account, then click on Notify of Multiple Users and type in their UserName exactly as it appears on their account and click Submit.

When I try to add a Multiple User, all I get is a white page. What do I need to do?
If you are an AOL user, you may need to open up an Internet Explorer browser window and login to your MonkeyRoyale account using the Internet Explorer window and complete the multiple user registration from there.

If I'm in the same tournament as another member sharing my connection, and we're going to be matched up in the next round. What do I do?
If you are matched against a multiple user on your account in any tournament match, please call the TD to the table to watch the game and report the outcome of the match. You may not play with or against, a multiple user on your account, during regular league play.

What are Flags and how can I get some?
There are several different types of Flags and ways to achieve them. There are monthly Quest Flags, Achievement Award Flags, Special Featured Tournament Flags and League Flags (monthly and lifetime). Explanations for all of these flags can be found on the Winnings Wall page.

E. Drawings and other Prizes.

What is Monkey of the Day, and how can I get it?
Monkey of the Day is a daily drawing that awards 500 BananaBux and a special Flag each day to 5 Monkeys. To participate, all you need to do is play in at least one league game or tournament match on the day before. Winners will be posted on the Announcement page each day.

How do I get an entry into a Giveaway drawing?
Each Giveaway drawing has specific ways to earn entries. To see how to earn entries in the current Giveaway drawing, go to the Giveaways page and click on the link for the current Giveaway Special to view the full ad and explanation.

F. BananaBux.

What are BananaBux?
BananaBux are the currency used on MonkeyRoyale, Royal Yahoo and Jungle Yahoo divisions.

What can I do with BananaBux?
BananaBux can be used to Join a Tournament, purchase Premium Memberships and can be redeemed for prizes in the MonkeyRoyale Redemption Centre. You can also Transfer BananaBux to other members (to transfer BananaBux, you must be a Premium Member or a member for at least 60 days). BananaBux Transfers are limited to no more than 5 in a month and no more than 10,000 Bux per transfer. There are no limits on transfers to yourself to or from Royal and Jungle.

I want to get more BananaBux really quick. How can I do that?
You earn BananaBux for each League game (monkey game) you play. You will receive 2 BananaBux for each win and 1 BananaBux for each loss. Premium Members earn 10 BananaBux for a win and 5 for a loss. You can earn more BananaBux by entering and placing in a Bux round of a tournament. There are many Free Entry tournaments each month. These tournaments have 0 entry fee and include an added Bux purse. You may also Purchase BananaBux using PayPal. Go to the Announcements page to see the current Special Offers that are available (Special Offers may also include Giveaway Drawing entries, Bonus BananaBux, Free Premium Memberships, and More!).

Is it OK to ask another Monkey for a loan or give me Bux?
Asking other members to loan or give you BananaBux is a violation of the Account Rules. Members work hard to earn BananaBux and should never be begged or harassed into giving them to other members.

How do I transfer BananaBux?
Click on the Transfer BananaBux link, located on the left sidebar of your MonkeyRoyale page, enter the UserName of the member you want to transfer BananaBux to, select your birthdate and click on Submit.

G. Auction Bux.

1. What are Auction Bux?

Auction Bux are a special form of currency that can only be used at the Auction House on the website. You earn Auction Bux every time you enter a tournament (some tournaments may include an additional prize of Bonus Auction Bux). You can also earn Bonus Auction Bux by purchasing one of the many Special Offers located on the Special Offers page.

2. How can I earn Auction Bux?
Play or host in a Tournament of 5000 BananaBux or more wins you 300 Auction Bux
Play or host in a Tournament of 1001 to 4999 BananaBux wins you 150 Auction Bux

3. I have a friend thats wants to bid on an item and they want me to give them my Auction Bux, Can I transfer my Auction Bux to them?

Auction Bux cannot be transferred. They are for your use only! top

4. Can I use Auction Bux to join tournaments?

Auction Bux cannot be use to join tournaments. Only BananaBux can be used for tournament entry fees.

H. Loyalty Points.

What are Loyalty Points?
Loyalty Points are our reward system. They are for those members going the extra mile to support MonkeyRoyale. For any tourney with an entry fee of 1000 BananaBux or higher that a player checks into, they will earn Loyalty Points. Loyalty Points can also be earned by buying BananaBux. For every 500 BananaBux that a player spends or buys on MonkeyRoyale, they earn 1 Loyalty Point. Loyalty Points are not earned on Redemption Centre transactions.

What can I do with Loyalty Points?
Loyalty Points may be spent in the Prize Redemption Centre or even converted to BananaBux: 1 loyalty point = 5 BananaBux. You must have a minimum of 1000 Loyalty Points before you can convert them to BananaBux.

I. King Rush Reward Points.

What are King Rush Reward Points?
King Rush Reward Points are special credits. You may receive King Rush Reward Points if a Redemption Centre order is cancelled. They may also be included as a prize in special tournaments.

What can I do with King Rush Reward Points?
King Rush Reward Points can be used towards purchases in the Redemption Centre or towards the purchase of a Premium Membership.

J. Account Upgrades.

What are Premium Memberships?
Premium Memberships are upgrades to regular memberships. You may purchase an Emerald or Charter Membership using BananaBux or through PayPal.

How do I upgrade my membership?
To upgrade your membership, click on the Premium Memberships button on the left side of your page. Choose the type of Premium Membership, the length and method of payment.

Can I be a Charter Member and a Emerald member too?
Charter membership never expires. This membership will keep your account active even if you do not sign in for long periods of time. You can be a Charter Member and still have as many Emerald memberships as you like.

K. Tournaments.

I registered my account, but I don't see any tournaments listed. Why don't I see any tournaments on the Join a Tournament page?
In order to see Tournaments listed on the Join A Tournament page, you must be a member of at least 1 of the many leagues offered on Jungle Monkeys on Yahoo (you may join as many as you like). Only the tournaments listed for the leagues you have joined, will show on the Join A Tournament page.

I found a tournament I want to play in, how do I enter the tournament?
When you find a tournament you want to play in, click on the tournament title and you will be taken to the tournament page for that tournament. Scroll down until you see the Register/Check-in button and click on it. If it is less than 60 minutes before the scheduled start time, you will automatically be checked in when you register. If it is more than 60 minutes before the scheduled start time, you will need to go back to that page within the 60 minutes prior to start time and check-in. You will find the check-in button where the register button was located.

I entered a tournament, but the page said I got dropped. What happened?
Partner tournaments require an even number of players in order to start. If there is an uneven number of players checked in, the last player to check-in will be dropped to make the number of players even. Checking in early will eliminate your chance of being dropped due to uneven numbers.

How do I know who I am supposed to Play?
When a tournament is started, or the round is advance, the Tournament Director will announce the round in the lobby. Refresh your tournament page and you will see your match listed on the bottom section of the page. In singles tournaments, the player on left needs to make the table and invite their opponent. In partner tournaments the player listed on the left of the team listed on the left, will make the table and invite the other 3 players.

I won a tournament! How soon do I get my Bux?
If you win a tournament, or place in a Bux round, you will receive your payout once the tournament has been closed.

I won my tournament match. How do I report it?
A Report button is located below the pairings listed on the tournament page. For partner tournaments, only the captain of each team (player listed on the left on each team)reports. Click on the button that matches your results (won/lost) and then click on the confirm button.

I entered a tournament but I had to leave and couldn't play. Why did I still get charged for the entry fee?
Once a tournament you have joined has started, you are considered a player in that tournament. Payouts are calculated by the number of players checked in when the tournament is started. Entry fees are not refunded for players that are disqualified, or do not play for any other reason. If you are not sure you will be able to play, you should check out of the tournament before it starts.

What are Featured Tournaments?
Featured Tournaments are special tournaments that have special flags or other prizes that can be earned.

What are the colored symbols with the letters N, A, R, M and GM, next to a players name on the tournament page for?
The colored symbols with the letters N, A, R, M and GM, are icons to represent each players rating level for that league. Information for each level can be found on the Ratings Medallion Legend page.

L. League Play.

I've joined a league. Where can I find other Monkeys to play Monkey Games with?
The best place to find other Monkeys to play with is in the Main Monkey Room for each league. You may also find other Monkeys in any other room that a tournament is currently being hosted in. To let other members know you are looking for a monkey game (mg), just type in the lobby, mg anyone? or looking for a mg. You can also watch for and respond, to other members looking for a game.

I played and won my first Monkey Game. How do I report it?
To report a league match (monkey game), click on the Report a League Match button listed on the left side of your page under "Leagues". Select the league from the drop down menu and click "Go". For 1 vs 1 games, enter the name of your opponent and click on "Submit". For 2 vs 2 games, enter the names of your partner and opponents in the corresponding boxes and click on "Submit". The winner(s) report and the loser(s) confirm.

I lost a Monkey Game, but the Report a League Match page will only let me report a win. How do I report my loss?
Only the winner(s) report. The loser(s) confirm. To confirm a loss, click on Report a League Match page. If you see an unresolved match, click on "Confirm" to accept the report. Click on "Deny" if the match is invalid.

I want to join a tourney, but it says I have unconfirmed matches. What do I do?
Go to the Report a League Match page and click on the appropriate button (confirm or deny) for each unresolved match. Once a match has been confirmed, it cannot be changed or cancelled. Be sure to check that the league and player information is correct before you confirm and only confirm matches that you know you have played.

Someone reported a win against me, but I never played that person. What do I do?
If you have an unresolved match listed for a game you did not play, or that lists the wrong league or players, you should deny the report.

When I try to report a Monkey Game, the page goes white or I get a message saying website not responding. What do I do?
This is generally caused by an issue with the AOL browser for AOL users. If you are an AOL user and use your AOL browser, try opening an Internet Explorer browser window, login to your MonkeyRoyale account from there and your report should process without difficulties. If you don't have an Internet Explorer browser, you can download it, or one of several other free browsers such as Mozilla Foxfire or Crazy Browser, from the interent.

M. My Wall.

What is My Wall?
My Wall is the page where you can view all of the Flags you have earned. You can also view your progress for current Flags, change your Winnings Wall options and manager your closet.

On My Wall page, I see a link for Manage My Closet. What is my Closet?
My Closet is a storage area for your Flags. With the Manage My Closet link, you can select which Flags you wish to display for others to see. You can choose to store 1 or more Flags in your closet, and you can bring them out again whenever you like.

How can I change the background for My Winnings Wall?
You must be a Premium Member in order to change your Winnings Wall background. To change your background, click on the Change My Background link, select the new background you would like displayed and click on Submit.

I haven't received my Flag yet. What do I do?
Some Flags may take up to 24 hours to be added to your Winnings Wall. If you have not received your Flag within 24 hours of completing the requirements, please use the Contact Us link and specify which Flag you are missing.

What are Icons?
Icons are miniature representations that are available for most Flags and are displayed on the league page standings and on any tournament pages for tournaments you are registered for. Some icons, like your ratings medallion icon, cannot be changed and will always be displayed by your name.

How can I change the Icon displayed by my name?
You can choose which icon to display by your name by clicking on the Choose My Icon link on your My Wall page.

Do Free and Premium Membership tournaments count towards my flags? What if I get DQ'd?
The Winnings Wall page, includes an explanation of each Quest or Flag and what the requirements are to earn them. If the explanation says "any fee" then Free and Premium tournaments are eligible.

N. Yahoo Room Problems.

I clicked on the room link on the tourney page, but it put me in the room with the wrong ID. How do I go to the room with my MonkeyRoyale ID?
The MonkeyRoyale room links will always take you to the room under the primary ID of your Yahoo account. If you are using a secondary Yahoo ID, then you need to find the ID# for that ID and then make a simple change to the URL address in the address bar of the game window. When you open a game room using a MonkeyRoyale room link, a window will open with an address similar to this http://games.yahoo.com/games/ante?room=gin_adv_c&prof_id=chat_pf_1, the number "1" at the end represents your primary Yahoo ID. In the address bar, change the number 1 to a 2, http://games.yahoo.com/games/ante?room=gin_adv_c&prof_id=chat_pf_2 and click "Go". Repeat this process until you are taken to the game room under the correct ID. Once you have found the correct ID number for your secondary Yahoo ID, you will use that number to change the address for any MonkeyRoyale room link.

I cannot get the Yahoo game rooms to load. How do I fix that?
Check to be sure you have Java enabled on your interent options. On your Intenet Explorer window, click on "Tools", then "Internet Options", then on the "Advanced" tab. Scroll down until you get to the Java settings. If you see Java (Sun), be sure there is a check in the box to use Java (you may need to restart if you had to change the setting). If you see Microsoft VM, make sure all 3 boxes are checked. If you do not have either one, you can do a search for msjavx86.exe and download it free. Once you install it, make sure it is selected in your Internet Options.

I clicked on the link to go to the room, but it says I don't exist. What did I do wrong?
In order for the links that we supply you to get into the rooms at Yahoo to work you must sign in to Yahoo first, check the box that says, "Remember my ID and Password". If you do not do this Yahoo will never recognize your ID. We do not control Yahoo. You must sign out of Yahoo, go back in and when you sign in make sure you click the "remember my password and ID" box.

O. MonkeyRoyale Email.

What is the "Change My Email Subscription" link for?
You can choose whether you wish to receive emails about MonkeyRoyale special offers or events. On your My Account page, click on Change My Email Subscription" link. Choosing Yes will insure that you will receive all MonkeyRoyale emails. If you choose No you will not receive important email notifications for special offers or events.

How do I change my email address on my account?
If the email address listed on your account is wrong or you have recently changed the email address you use, go to My Account and click on the Change Email link. Enter your password then type in your new email address and confirm it by entering it again, then click on Submit.

I sent an email to UserSupport using the Contact Us page, but I haven't gotten an answer yet. Everyone else says they always get a response. Why haven't I gotten one?
If you are expecting a response, but haven't received one, try looking in your spam folder. Many email servers automatically sort emails from unknown senders into a spam folder. Check to be sure your settings are not set to block email from unknown senders by checking your email filter settings. If you are an AOL user, we suggest using a different email address for your MonkeyRoyale account. You can sign up for a free email account with your Yahoo account. Hotmail also offers free email accounts.

Other players tell me about emails they get about special promotions or special events, but I've never gotten an email from MonkeyRoyale. Why don't I get these emails?
The first thing you need to check is that your email subscription is set to receive special MonkeyRoyale emails. Go to My Account and check to see that it says "Yes" next to "Email Subscription". If your email subscription is set to "Yes" and you're still not receiving the emails, you will need to check the email settings for your email program and also your spam settings if you have a spam blocker set-up. These emails may be being sorted to a spam folder.

P. Own a league.

How can I own my own league?
If you meet the requirements of ownership, 21 years of age or older, No recent Suspensions, Willing to follow MonkeyRoyale Rules and Guidelines then you can apply. Go to the Own a League page, click on Apply Today link. Tell us about yourself and your ambition to own your own league and the next new league may be yours.

If I'm a TD now, do I have to resign while I wait to find out if my application is approved?
No, the process can take some time. You should continue as a TD and keep building the experience for what may lie ahead. If you are selected to own your own league there will be ample time to get released from the league you are with now, before you start up your new league.

I put in my application, can I start lining up TD's for my league now?
No, it would not be fair to the people you recruit to make them wait on a league that might not be approved. You can never recruit a TD away from another league.

I heard there is a League Auction, what does that mean?
From time to time it becomes necessary to choose a new League Owner for an existing league. One method used is to hold a League Auction, where a new League Owner is chosen by single, private bids. When this happens, the Auction notice is posted on the Announcements page and on the league page of the league being auctioned. You can read all about the Auction Rules in the Account Rules And on the auction notices. You must meet all requirements of League Ownership to cast a Bid and you must fill out a Jungle League Application. Then just follow the directions you will receive by e-mail, send in your Bid and sit back and wait to see if you are the lucky winner.
